Jodie Cohen is an award-winning communications consultant with over 20 years’ experience working with industry-leading clients. In 2012, Jodie set up Jodie Cohen Communications, advising on corporate communications, public affairs and public relations, and specialising in sustainability and corporate responsibility communications. Believing in the importance of sustainability, Jodie donates 20% of her income from clients to charities.
Jodie has worked with numerous companies in a corporate communications capacity, including Unilever, Waitrose, John Lewis Group, Lidl, LEGO, Samsonite, GSK, Smith & Nephew, Chanel, Burberry, Delta Galil, Barclays Bank, Discount Bank, Shell, Total UK, JLL, Cushman & Wakefield, Amdocs, and Serco, among others.
Projects have included writing and editing stakeholder materials (such as sustainability, corporate responsibility, ESG, human rights and annual reports). They have also involved drafting corporate reviews, policy briefings, newsletters, and opinion pieces, as well as marketing materials such as website copy, brochures, case studies and blogs.
In addition, Jodie has advised Waitrose & Partners and the UK’s Institute of Customer Service on their political engagement. Jodie regularly comments on politics on India's World Is One News, Israel’s i24 News, The Jerusalem Post and ILTV, and the UK’s Jewish News.
Jodie’s work has received numerous awards over the years. Unilever’s global sustainability report, for example, was Spotlighted in PWC's Excellence in Sustainability Report 2020, alongside GSK's global annual report, for which Jodie also wrote the Trust section.
Between 2000 and 2012, Jodie worked at then industry-leading PR Group, Bell Pottinger. In March 2012, she won the Chime Group's Cymbal Award for best public affairs campaign for her work with the supermarket Waitrose. Prior to joining Bell Pottinger, Jodie worked in public affairs at Burson-Marsteller for two years, where she won awards for Best International Campaign and Best UK Campaign.
Jodie obtained a first-class degree in Politics and Modern History from the University of Manchester and won both the degree and dissertation prizes. Throughout her time as a student, Jodie worked at the BBC as a reporter for BBC Radio Manchester. She won three student awards for Best Student Journalist, Best Student Political Campaigner and Student Youth Leadership.
