Jodie Cohen is an award winning communications consultant with 18 years' experience working at top consultancies and with industry-leading clients.  

In 2012, she set up Jodie Cohen Communications offering corporate communications, copywriting, public relations, and public affairs consultancy. Jodie's mission is to offer exceptionally effective - and refreshingly cost effective - reputation management.

Jodie has worked with numerous companies in a corporate communications capacity, including Unilever, Compass Group, Waitrose, John Lewis Group, Soilmec, Serco, SolarCity, Corporate Citizenship, Discount Bank, Graduway and Qatargas; and organisations including the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority, Commonwealth Education Trust, UK Trade & Investment and the Department of Energy and Climate Change.  This has included writing annual reports, sustainability reports, corporate brochures, newsletters, internal handbooks, case studies, briefings, opinion pieces and website copy.

In November 2016, Jodie's work writing Unilever's sustainability report won two Best Sustainability Report awards: from PWC and ICSA The Governance Institute.

 

In May 2015, Jodie won Corporate Register’s Silver Award for Best First Time Report for Starwood Hotels’ sustainability report. Jodie wrote the case studies for this report, highlighting best practice and communicating key corporate responsibility messages.

 

Jodie has advised the Institute of Customer Service on their relations with the UK government and parliamentarians. Other communications clients have included Waitrose, ed tech startup Graduway, Healthy Marketing Team, Ranger Services, Rare Corporate, Gold Star Marketing, and UN disabilities adviser Beit Issie Shapiro.

 

Jodie spent 12 years working at the Bell Pottinger Group. Directing the Waitrose account, she advised the national supermarket chain on their relations with political stakeholders. In March 2012, she won the Group's Chime Cymbal Award for best public affairs campaign for her work with Waitrose.

 

Jodie also managed the account with Kellogg's for six years, advising the company on raising the profile of their CSR activities. This included writing Kellogg’s quarterly newsletters for stakeholders, highlighting the company’s sustainability progress. Jodie also wrote Kellogg’s Centenary brochure, a flagship document which was presented to stakeholders at every meeting throughout the company’s Centenary year.  



Prior to joining Bell Pottinger, Jodie worked at international PR firm Burson-Marsteller, where she won awards for Best International Campaign for her work on The Dolphin Project, and Best UK Campaign for her work with Digene Pharmaceuticals.



Jodie has experience working with many areas of the media, from international broadcasters such as the BBC and Sky News, to national newspaper The Independent, special interest press including the Jewish Chronicle and Jewish News, and local newspaper the Daily Echo.  Jodie also spent two years working at BBC Greater Manchester Radio.  She still writes features for the Jewish News, the largest circulation newspaper aimed at the Jewish community in the UK.

 

As a student, Jodie obtained a First Class degree in Politics and Modern History from the University of Manchester, won the Degree Prize and Dissertation Prize.
